About Urnes Serpents
The image is developed to be authentic and true to the viking age regarding stitches style and materials. The image is designed by Nordurljos Art in the Urnes style- The last of the Vikings image styles!
The stitches are stem stitches, just like the Mammen-shirt find from Denmark.
What can you embroider on?
The image is specially designed to be embroidered at the cape part of a Viking hood (Skjoldehamn hood), which were typically made of wool. You could also split the image in two and embroidery on each side of the hood.
